The One Where I talk about my experience : 2 Years Blogging Anniversary

Published by

I can’t believe that it’s been two years since I started this blog, what started as a way of connecting to people and just having fun has grown in so much more.

Why I began my Blog?

I started this blog as a way to not only put my thoughts on the books I have read out there but also to connect to like minded bloggers and readers who read and liked the same books as me.

I also began my blog to complement my Instagram, to write more in depth reviews of books I had read and and to get more ingrained into this community.

When I started doing this I had never expected that this would grow as much as this did and I am very thankful for that.

What do I like about this community?

I love the connections that I have made, I have met so many amazing people and have made some amazing friends here. My blog has helped me grow as a person, has helped me focus on what I want and kinda helped me with my time management skills and also made me appreciate my uniqueness more.
I have found some awesome book recommendations here and I have found people who read and enjoy stuff I do and talking to them always makes me feel better.

My Tips for bloggers new to the community.

Don’t get affected by numbers
The first thing that I learnt is to not let myself feel bad about the stagnant growth, especially in the beginning. I has 2 followers for a long time and that number grew after a long time, there was barely anyone what wanted to read my posts, I used to feel bad about that but I never let it get to me, I persevered and here I am.

Promote your blog and content everywhere
My blog began to grow only after I started aggressively promoting it on my social media, especially Twitter. Your social media account is yours and you have every bloody right in the world to promote your blog content on it, so don’t stop yourself from doing so.

Connect to others and make friends
Friends are people who can help you grow immensely and they are the ones who support you no matter what. I had good luck to find friends like that through the book blogging community, I had people who I could lean on to if I needed support and people who would share my content with everyone.

Feel comfortable to approach the Stars
When I started blogging I was so damn scared to talk to those amazing and popular bloggers because I did not think that they would reply and also because I though that they wouldn’t have time for a nobody like me, but I couldn’t be more wrong. The stars of this community are almost always there for you and they will reply and talk to you so don’t be afraid to approach them.

Like and comment on other bloggers post
A good of making friend in the blogging community is to read, like and comment on other peoples posts because they tend to return the favour and it is easy to strike up a friendship that way.

Always jot down your blog ideas
Inspirations strikes anywhere, even in the waiting room of a dentist or when you are half asleep so have something handy to write down your ideas on.

Inspiration
It is okay to take inspiration from other peoples content but it is VERY important to credit that person in the post that you took inspiration from and also take their permission to do so.

Be yourself
This is the most important thing there is. When I began blogging I thought that I had to love the hyped book or else I will be hated and that I had to behave a certain way to be appreciated and if you feel the same way, let me tell you that’s BS because you being you will give your blog a unique touch that no one else can, so find your voice and just be yourself.

What tips on how to blog more? Check out my post on some tips I have learnt over time HERE

What about themes?

You can keep any theme that you like, don’t feel pressured to use a theme that others are using or ones that are popular, because you may not be happy with that and your happiness always comes first.

Blogging Hiatus? Is it okay to take a break?

Hells YEAH, because life gets in the way and also because you may not have the motivation to write posts for a while because burn out is a real thing, so it is okay to take a break, to sit back and not type down stuff for your blog and just chill, the only thing you need to do is tell your followers that you will be disappearing for a while and trust me most of the people understand.

Is it okay to change my format?

It is perfect okay to play around with formats of posts till you find the one that works for you, that’s how you find the most amazing and unique things

These are the things I could think about right now and I am sure next year I will have even more things to say to you guys.

I wanna thank everyone who has stayed with me from the start and I wanna thank everyone who has supported me by liking my posts, sharing them, liking them and giving me courage for being me.

I love this community and the people in it because everyone is so wholesome and friendly and supportive and I am so grateful that I get to be part of something so wonderful

I also wanna give a very special thank you to Dave over at @The_WriteReads on Twitter and on Instagram because without him and the gang over at the The Write Reads community I wouldn’t have been able to make it this far, so THANK YOU SO MUCH, I am eternally grateful and so glad to be a part of the gang.

To close this out, because I don’t know any other way how, I wanna say this to whoever is reading this

You are amazing, you are wonderful and no matter what anyone says, you matter. Your voice is heard and you opinions matter and I welcome you to this community of pages, where words are blood and where letters sing the song of our souls, I hope you find what you need folded between the pages of a book.

    Happy blogiversary!!
I have been blogging for four years, and sometimes the confidence vanishes, but as long as I remember it’s a hobby and it’s supposed to be fun, all is good!
