The One Where this was an amazing tag to attempt: The 20 Questions Book Tag

Published by

The wonderful Stephen tagged me to do this fun tag, I had a great time answering all these questions.

Thank you so much to Stephen for tagging me to this tag, be sure to check out Stephen’s version of the tag.

1. How many books are too many books in a series?

Just like Stephen said, if I love the world and characters enough then the series cannot be long enough.

My favorite series of all time is The Dresden Files, which was a wonderful series with 17 books out so far and is still on going and I don’t think I will ever be ready for it end

2. How do you feel about cliffhangers?

Similar to what Stephen said, It depends, in a series where I know there are more books left, I am okay with a cliffhanger, I mean I will cry about the fact that I will have to wait for the next book to be released till I know what’s gonna happen.

But I hate cliffhangers at the end of standalones and series because if I have invested time in the book I would like to know how it ends and I would like all loose ends to be tied up.

3. Hardback or Paperback?

I am on team Paperback in this debate, paperbacks are cheaper, more portable and easier to read so I tend to prefer them over hardbacks but if I ever find a good hardback at an affordable price them I definitely grab it.

4. Favourite book?

If you mean standalone then I cannot choose one since there are quite a few that I love namely, Red, White and Royal Blue, Written in the Stars, Simon VS the Homo Sapiens Agenda, Scythe, Elantris and Warbreaker.

Though, if you were to ask me about my favorite series the answer would be instantaneous and you will hear me scream praises for The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher

5. Least favourite book?

My Summer of Love and Misfortune by Lindsay Wong – DNF @ 20%
This book sucked, I just couldn’t force myself to reach even 30% before I had to DNF this book since the main character was insufferable.

My Sister the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braitwaite – 2 stars
I hated the fact that this in this book there were absolutely no consequences to the actions of the characters and I generally do not like that in books and this was no exception.

6. Love triangles, yes or no?

Depends, Love triangles have potential but only if they are done well, if not they can make a book with a good plot fall flat and make it the book unbearable for me.

7. The most recent book you just couldn’t finish?

The last book I DNFed was in 2020 and it was My Summer of Love and Misfortune after that, there wasn’t any book that I couldn’t finish however Tiny Pretty Things was a close call and if it wasn’t the book club pick I would have definitely would have DNFed it, towards the end of the novel I was just so sick of the repetitive plot that I just wanted it to end

8. A book you’re currently reading?

I am in the middle of two books at the time of writing this post

Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert – I was looking forward to reading this book since it sounded really nice and also I really liked the first one and so far I am really enjoying it.

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo – I have finally started reading this series (major cause I do not wanna be spoiled for it when the TV show comes out) I am liking this one as well, the story is intriguing and I am looking forward to seeing where the plot takes us

9. Last book you recommended to someone?

To no ones surprise the last book I recommend was The Dresden Files, I think I replied to someone’s IG post recommending them to read Storm Front

10. Oldest book you’ve read?

I think To Kill A Mockingbird is the oldest published book on my shelf but I am not sure and I am too lazy to go and check

11. Newest book you’ve read?

A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas, I had to read this one as soon as it releases because I love this world and these characters and I adored this book with all my heart and soul, it was released on 17th February, 2021

12. Favourite author?

There are many but my top 3 are Jim Butcher, Brandon Sanderson and Sarah J. Maas.

13. Buying books or borrowing books?

Buying, always. It is a dream of mine to have a small personal library of my own someday and I have already started to amass my collection

14. A book you dislike that everyone else seems to love?

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, though this isn’t an unpopular opinion now when I first read Fangirl around 4 years ago, I saw no one other than me dislike it.

15. Bookmarks or dog-ears?

Bookmarks always, because I like to keep my books in the best of conditions but also I love collecting bookmarks especially magnetic bookmarks.

16. A book you can always reread?

I am sure everyone is sick of me mentioning it but I could reread The Dresden Files till the end of time, then there is also Red, White and Royal Blue, Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda and also Written in the Stars

17. Can you read while listening to music?

Depends, I usually do not like listening to music but if I do then I usually listen to ASMR or white noise but occasionally I will listen to normal music as well

18. One POV or multiple POVs?

It totally depends on the book but something I have noticed is that if the book is in First Person POV then I prefer one POV and third POV fits very well with multiple POV.

19. Do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days?

I do not like to rush reading (unless I have to) so I like to take my time and read over multiple days though mangas and graphic novels are faster to read so I can finish reading them in one sitting.

20. Who do you tag?

I tag Sofii, Sumedha and Katie.

Do you like books with multiple POVs or just one POV?

Wonderful answers, Mek! We agree on a lot of these things 😊 Wonderful to hear you are enjoying Shadow and Bone, it’s a fairly good series although I thought the ending could have been better. I’m actually reading Six Of Crows now in preparation for the Netflix series.
