The One Where these were the best book I’ve read so far: Top 5 book I read in the 1st Quarter of 2021

This post was inspired by Catorina @The BrownEyedBookworms post.

Best books of the year, month, season, etc, are few of my favorite posts to read since it not only give me good recommendations but also it is always fun seeing people gush over books, which is a great hobby of mine so it is fun to read other do that too.

Few books on this list that will definitely be appearing in the best books of the year list and some which will appear as honourable mentions, though that is a long way off (but given how fast the year is going I won’t be surprised that tomorrow will be December 31st).

Though moving on…let’s get into the the top 5 books I loved this first quarter of 2021.

5. Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

I was not sure how I would feel about this book since I had heard mix things about the trilogy but my worries were for naught since I liked it a bit.

This one is probably not gonna end up on my top 10 list but it definitely one I enjoyed a lot in this first quarter, the story is pretty fun and the characters were really fun to follow.

The twists that were thrown our way, took me by surprise and I had a pretty great time reading this book.

4. Take A Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert

I am new to the adult romance genre having ventured into it once before 2021 though this year I read all the 3 Brown Sisters books and the first 2 I read in the first quarter of 2021 and this one made it to the list.

As much as I loved Get A Life, Chloe Brown, Take a Hint, Dani Brown stood out to me more since I related to Dani a lot more than I did to Chloe.

Dani’s love for her career and academics is something I related to so much and she is so badass and awesome.

Another amazing thing about this book is how Zafir tackles the issue of mental health in boys, killing toxic masculinity one drop of poison at a time.

This book was phenomenal and I think everyone should read the Brown Sisters series! It is damn good.

3. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

I cannot believe that I waited so long so read this book because it was so so amazing!

I wanna talk about it in a full discussion review but in short this was so touching and that ending…WOW!

I just…loved it.

2. Written in the Stars by Alexandria Bellefleur

This was so so so adorable, with the Sapphic romance with stars and two amazing characters who were just perfect for each other and the way their romance bloomed and they way they helped each other grow was amazing and I loved every second of it.

1. A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas

This book, this is definitely gonna be on my top 3 of this year at least coz…WOW

Never thought reading about meditation would make me cry but boy was I wrong and I did cry over that and over about a zillion other things in this book.

The mental health rep was done so well and it made me feel so seen, I love SJM, I love these characters and I want Rhys and Feyre to adopt me.

So those are the books that made it to the top of my list for the first quarter, let’s see what books will stay on top at the end of the year.
